    Albert Einstein

  • 1. ALBERT EINSTEIN (14 March 1879 – 18 April 1955)

  • 4.  He was born to Hermann and Pauline Einstein. His father was a salesman and an engineer.  In 1880, The family moved to Munich, where Hermann and Jakob founded a company that manufactured electrical equipment based on direct current.  Albert was born on March 14, 1879 in Ulm, Germany.

  • 5.  At age 5, Albert attended Catholic elementary school for three years. Later at the age of 8, Einstein was transferred to Luitpold Gymnasium where he received advanced and primary school education.  Albert received good grades but found his schooling dependent on rote learning and memorization.

  • 6.  In 1894, Hermann and Jakob's company lost a bid to supply the city of Munich with electrical lighting because they lacked the capital to convert their equipment from the direct current standard to the more efficient alternating current. The loss forced the sale of the Munich factory.  In search of business, the Einstein family moved to Italy. His father intended for him to pursue electrical engineering.
