Zari Tomaz and Zari Tarazi () are fictionalcharacters portrayed by Tala Ashe in The CW's Arrowverse franchise, primarily the television series Legends of Tomorrow. Loosely inspired by the characters Andrea Thomas and Adrianna Tomaz, both of whom use the moniker Isis, Zari was created by Phil Klemmer and Marc Guggenheim, with the Tomaz incarnation introduced in the series' third season episode "Zari". She is a hacktivist from a dystopian 2042 and joins the time-travelling Legends of Tomorrow, assisting them on their numerous adventures through season four. Due to the events of the season four finale, Tomaz's history is changed in a way that she never lived in a dystopian future; after she is erased from reality, a new alternate timeline version of Zari introduced in season five, Tarazi, is instead a socialite and social media influencer before joining the Legends.

Iranian-American actress (born 1984)
Talayeh Ashrafi (Persian: طلایه اشرفی;[1] born July 24, 1984) known professionally as Tala Ashe, is an Iranian-American actress. She is known for her roles on the television series Smash, American Odyssey, and As the World Turns, as well as her regular role as Zari Tomaz and Zari Tarazi on The CWsuperhero series Legends of Tomorrow.
Early life and education
[edit]Ashe was born in Tehran, Iran.[2] She immigrated to the United States when she was nine months old.[3] Ashe grew up in Powell, Ohio, just outside of the state capital Columbus.[4][5] She participated in her high school theatre productions as both an actress and director.[4]
Ashe received a BFA from Boston University's School of Theatre.[6] She also trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City.[7][8]
Career
[edit]Ashe has performed in numerous regional and Off-Broadway stage productions.[4] Ashe's first screen credit is for her role as Nadia in the 2008 film Waiting in Beijing.[9] She was credited as Tala Ashrafi, but is credited as Tala Ashe in all subsequent roles.
